@c0dec0dec0de god i need to think this through
@c0dec0dec0de no so you can opt out. but the final line is deeply deceptive. it implies telemetry is not enabled. but that's because it was not enabled on the first run
Den will ich euch nicht vorenthalten.
Ring ends partnership plans with Flock days after privacy blowback from Super Bowl ad https://therecord.media/ring-ends-partnership-with-flock-superbowl-ad
@judell ?? The platform is encouraging you to RSVP for events listed on it. The progress bar showing how many RSVPs you have done has nothing to do with the event listing - it's just gamifying you using the platform. This seems pretty obvious without asking ChatGPT.
@GuerillaOntologist Wasn't obvious to me! And tbh still isn't. Do you agree there are separate concepts mashed together here? Would you present them differently if the goal were not to gamify?
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, the CEO of the mega trade & logistics company DP World, has resigned from his position after he was named in documents of Jeffrey #Epstein, who referred to the Dubai businessman as a “close personal friend.”

Autistic never done vanilla relationships question; if I'm dating someone, is she my girlfriend?
Or is that a different thing?
@hipsterelectron so, telemetry is disabled for the first run, but on your second run—even if you opt out—it will send something containing some undisclosed amount of data about your machine and execution environment?!

@lordsplodge @atpfm thank god for chapter markers 🙂
AI is killing my interest in tech. I get it’s here to stay, but I just don’t want to listen to much discussion about it.
@vmachiel The good news is that there’s no AI at all in the follow-up or topics for the next episode!
(The bad news is that there are a couple of AskATP questions on the topic…if we ever get to them.)
#Wine #GE-Proton
@sebsauvage
@marcms
Ah oui ?
@marcms
"22 companies using XMPP and ejabberd to build instant messaging services"
Interesting to see how #XMPP, which tends to be seen as barely used, remains the go-to solution in the industry (which unfortunately locks it in a closed environment).
