If you've never been there/read up on it, Bangkok's greater metropolitan area is home to over 17 million people—we're talking New York/London in scale—and is on the Chao Phraya river delta in reclaimed swampland. There are canals, and drainage is a perpetual problem.
This is as bad as the entire Netherlands facing inundation.

I’m still haunted from watching Oregon 🏈 quarterback Dante Moore get badly injured tonight after which he was taken immediately to the hospital. Seeing his legs twitch in a seizure like manner after he took an illegal hit by a USC player was hard to watch. He’s a super talented 21yo with a super ability to play at a top level in the NFL. Hoping he can recover fully. #football #oregon
@mangotable I stopped watching US football (which used to be my favorite sport) when I started realizing that very few football players die old, and that they basically destroy their health and their future for our entertainment.
The worst part is that we have internalized how being injured is a normal and expected thing in this sport.

China has finished phasing out ozone-depleting HCFCs from its solvent industry.
It’s the last stage of a project running since 2016 that forced 53 enterprises to move to substitutes (a nationwide ban on HCFCs in cleaning agents took effect on 1 July 2026).

- Projects which's ban depended purely on licensing or was a temporary measure (maybe QEMU or OpenJDK in the future)
- Projects which had a policy discussion wherein people which use AI pushed for a more lenient policy (think bevy)
other cases are rare, moreso exceptions than the norm
