Haven't used Tivo in over a year after switching from Fios to YouTubeTV. Still miss Tivo, the YTTV DVR is so bad at navigating and playback. Just jumping ahead is so many clicks because they use the terrible YouTube interface instead of Apple’s.

uBlock Origin (the ad blocker) does a really good job at blocking ClickFix attacks (where user is encouraged to paste commands into Run box). They added support in July and have been refining rules.

@nazgul I know the article is sponsored. I don't care. The point is that it's pointing out that the passkeys ecosystem is not the sunshine and roses world the promoters of passkeys claim. I've already had to deal with many ordinary people who accepted passkey prompts and got locked out as a result! Horrific! Some sites push these in very deceptive ways, like making it look like a passkey was already created when actually it hasn't been and the option to avoid this is tiny and deceptively worded. People with single devices to access the Net are particularly at risk. Some implementations, like Google's terrible one, give any device compromise total access to all your accounts controlled by passkeys, since there's no additional authentication layers. I've discussed this directly with the relevant people at G. Their view, as I interpret it, is that if some users get screwed by this it just doesn't matter. Unfortunately, that's always been the case with Google's account methodologies, particularly account recovery.
