Ok same question but for pharmacy-style things in California.
I use iHerb.com and Vitacost.com.
Vitacost used to be owned by Kroger, and I stopped using them for several months when Kroger was being a union-busting prick.
Unfortunately, iHerb and Vitacost *merged*, and the result is a suckier version of both, with a lot of products being silently dropped, or "backordered", yet never restocked.
Also, iHerb relies on LaserShip for delivery, which is a meth-head gig worker hellhole.

@tante ... sorry wait shoot this might come off as disagreeing&challenging you or aggressively criticizing. I'm SUPER into the ideas you're laying down, and the way I tend to react to those feelings is by trying to find hopefully-useful questions to yes-and and hear more thoughts/crystalizations.
I definitely don't expect, or think you need, to have answers to all or even any of these questions (I think I have some things I'm thinking about for some of them? tho obviously they're not /your/ answers, and might not be similar at all.), just that hopefully they're useful to you.

I have spent much of this week doing the sort of work that AI is absolutely terrible at, which has helped me to see how many people doing this same work are definitely using AI.

It works for an AT -> AP bridge, but also for an AP -> AT bridge
(AP = ActivityPub, AT = AT protol)
Maybe the fedbridge developer @snarfed.org can tell you more about the problems you see ? Is there a way to move the account if the bridge is offline?
In theory, the code is public, anyone can run a bridge too, to make it more decentralized.

But over all for me the most important thing is really:
it should not matter if you are on Fediverse or ATproto.
The only thing that matters is that there is a connection in all open source & decentralized platforms.
And I'm thankful that there is a bridge.
