@algernon I've been tempted to write my own configuration management system, in Rust. The configuration would be expressed in Rust, too, not in YAML or other stringly typed language.
@liw Aye, I've felt the temptation recently too. The only reason I'm able to resist is that in the long run, I don't want a configuration management system, but a declaratively configured system a'la NixOS or Guix.
A new group of colleagues discovering "AI" and sharing generated images leaves me feeling exhausted. I find it increasingly harder to behave in a room where the first waves of unreasonable expectations are being tempered.
I don’t want a new phone. I want my perfectly good hardware to keep getting updates until it actually stops working. I want replaceable batteries that get recycled. If a company stops giving updates I want to be able to change the OS.

@otfrom I use Vaultwarden, which seems OK. I've not specifically looked, but I've not seen any suggestion that it's slop-generated.

Persino Cossiga e, prima ancora, l'On. Aldo Moro riconobbero al "brigatismo" una legittimità politica e storica, che non significa né fare apologia né giustificare. Furono tra sei e settemila le persone finite in carcere per attività di lotta armata. Ridurre quel fenomeno a la follia di quattro "giustizieri sociali" è un insulto alla intelligenza umana e alla storia.

Repression and Resistance in Russia: An Overview

Across three decades, Russia has been at the forefront of the worldwide descent into authoritarianism. Vladimir Putin’s government has suppressed opposition in ways that aspiring autocrats like Donald Trump are still striving to emulate. Yet despite widespread repression, there is still resistance in Russia, and as Putin’s model proliferates, people everywhere around the world stand to benefit from learning about it.
Likewise, we should support Russian anarchist and anti-war prisoners, both because resistance within Russia offers hope for the eventual end of war and totalitarianism and because, should autocrats consolidate power where we live, we will wish for people to support us, as well.
By the looks of it, chef and puppet need ruby, and I'm not touching that with a ten feet pole, so that leaves me with ansible, aegis, and salt.
Salt has an agents/ directory, full with shit, ansible has AI infestation too, fossil is an SCM, not quite what I want, and so is aegis.

How do you deal with significant mismatches in the physicality of inner self vs the body?
The mismatch is kind-of hitting me hard tonight and it’s not gender dysphoria, although I’m sure that’s at the ultimate root of it.
I feel like the answer is just “you accept it because that’s all you can do”.
