@piecritic I suspect what really happened, and it’s a common pattern, is that Deno’s business didn’t take off. As a result, as happens they look to pivot and ended up with a use case: https://celld.dev/ (cloudflare durable objects that you can self host). They they started to shop around and the Cloudflare deal happened.

@zef yeah, it was a kneejerk response. Once I read into it, the story of their buyout makes more sense than the other ones, heh.
@zef well this makes me incredibly sad. Why the fuck are companies buying up JavaScript runtimes? It's so bizarre to me.
