Unfortunately, the Academy is taking an ineffectual approach to dealing with in-group anti-intellectual stubbornness. Perhaps a better approach would be to pass laws REQUIRING that people drink only raw milk, with a provision allowing conscientious objectors to have safe milk if they do it for religious reasons or special circumstances (such as a psychiatric fixation on good health).

Raw milk cheeses, yes, they have a merrit, they also have bacteria cultures from the cheesemaking process that are supposed to dominate. And residual risks are well understood.

Raw milk itself: I don't think anyone needs it.
