Alas, unless there is strong and enforced #regulation , it would be even *easier* to do this for #EVs than #petrol / #diesel #vehicles
In most (all?) countries, drivers of petrol/diesel #cars are used to seeing a "totem sign" (apologies if that is not PC term, I don't know of better ones) which shows the price of #fuel in big numbers for all to see. You can also walk round the pumps and check individual price displays.
Whereas EV chargers do not show *any* price info on the screen until the driver has put in their card/ID and possibly committed to charging their vehicle (I've checked the screens of several in motorway service stations and supermarket car parks) and there isn't any totem sign either, so every driver could already be getting individual pricing..
@sortova @pluralistic reminded of that headline “consumers prefer self driving cars that won’t kill them”
People just aren’t going to buy cars that do that
Also by the time someone actually set that up people won’t be buying cars that burn fuel anymore
@vfrmedia Agree it could be much better but I should imagine most EV users going on a journey meaning they can't charge at home are going to be planning it.
In which case they're using an app that is likely to tell them prices (e.g. Electroverse)
