@parismarx It's an end run on civilization, poisoning human discourse with gish-galloped plausible nonsense to forestall accountability. We can't pick up the pitchforks when we're this confused. That is a threat to civilization, just not in they way they describe it, which is _also_ a gish-gallop of plausible nonsense to forestall accountability.

Because it's different scenario.
the fantastical threat is about AGI ruling human stuff, while the Canadian incidence is about human abusing AI.
LLM can do planning and searching, not actively guide human into evil deeds.
we shouldn't ban a technology because bad guy abused it, otherwise e2ee messenger, encrypted email, Tor and VPN will all be banned (and EU, US, Canada all like that statement).
