I don't know what its compatibility currently looks like with the AP standard as written, but at the very least it is something that already exists. Little point in reinventing the wheel.

happy to advise on that more generally, but this call is just about AP compatibility and having a framework for judging things like this. sidenote: DIDs can't be authorities per URI RFC, so the interop/conformance problems might be lower-level than AP!
