I often think about the fact that it's very likely there is somewhere in the world, in many places perhaps, an infinite loop going on that no one is aware of.
An infinite loop where an AI Agent is programmed to email an address unknowingly only read by another AI Agent.
Both AI Agents are just replying to each other, back and forth, without any human ever reading any of these emails at all.
Like a perpetual machine of resource-wasting and empty words.
And, somehow, I think this is a beautiful representation of the state of humanity right now.
@Em0nM4stodon did you see the story from a few years ago, where there were two listings from third parties on Amazon for some random book, each of them for ludicrous 5-figure sums? They eventually figured out that both vendors had a bot. The vendor with the book checked Amazon for other prices and the bot set his price to X+smallnumber, while the other didn't have the book and had the bot set the price to X+small%age, assuming they could buy from the first seller and resell at a small profit.
