If you REALLY want to stick it to companies knowingly funding fashtech, consider becoming a Friend of @gnome! There’s a convenient $50/month option in case you’re not planning to drop $3 million on something else. Or, you know, any amount helps. 😉

Friends of GNOME directly support the open source stack that many Linux-based operating systems depend on. They enable GNOME to pay individual contributors to work on critical and under-resourced areas of the project through the fellowship program.
Corporations aren’t lining up to throw millions at GNOME (though there are a few more modest tiers if your company is interested!). Most of the support comes from individuals like you.
If a few thousand folks became Friends of GNOME today, that would be huge for the sustainability of the Linux ecosystem.
