AI in FOSS projects is not just an annoyance. It is a campaign. Deliberate, specific and coordinated.
The goal is simple: convert, collect and capture. Those who trust AI to run their security will eventually depend on it. And Big Tech holds all of the cards. The price to keep up will keep rising, and when projects can't afford to keep up, the winners get free operating systems and programs to take control of, and the end users lose. Less power. Less freedom. And if AI Boosters have their way, users all eat from the same trough, one token at a time.
Ask yourself: If you didn't like computers in the 1980's and 1990's, you could do without. Then the Internet came along, and you embraced it. Not because you had to, but because you can. Checks didn't go away. Music is still available on CDs. Movies still have theaters to play in. So why when it comes to AI that nobody has a choice?
