By the end of next year the Tangerine Tyrant's attacks on Iran & the associated 'closure' of the Strait of Hormuz will have cost UK households around £2,400 on average; no wonder the Right has started to distance itself from its prior support for Trump.

The UK's open economy makes it much more vulnerable in times of crisis; for the political class this was always a trade off against the (their) purported benefits in times of global stability

@ChrisMayLA6 Ha! All but the most rabid of the #Right has understood that #Trump is a liability! He’s become a bit of an embarrassment. The Left should be able to benefit from this but largely doesn’t appear capable of understanding how to. Or maybe I’m wrong (I would love to be wrong!)

No, I think you're right; what remains of the Left (in power) really isn't clear about how to deal with the Tangerine Tyrant; they know they don't like him but seem to continue to think there is some way to 'deal' with him (in a contractural sense)... not that I have a good answer either, to be frank (although treating him as a bully and acting accordingly may sometimes work?)

@ChrisMayLA6 What I don't get is that it is clear to many that there is this problem regarding the Left's communications style but little seems to be being done to address this, from what I understand, long standing issue. Communication is highly important in politics and voters will go for articulate, convincing speakers - who are much more common on the fast-talking Right!

I think the issue is that many on the Left think he superiority of their argument(s) is/are self-evident, and only stupid people buy into Rightest ideas, and therefore they find it hard to understand why they don't just win the argument after stating their position (as its clearly more sensible, just, fair or efficient).
