It's Chriiiiiiistmas. Merry Christmas everyone.
@TheBreadmonkey I was just wondering what the heck the Stollen and the Speculatius biscuits are doing out in the supermarket, I guess it's not just Germany that's completely bonkers.
@TheBreadmonkey But... it's... it's not even October!
Are you hanging up your stockings on the wall?
Fuck off, no, we’ve not even started Fall
you may have noticed i am a grippy person.
https://www.dictionary.com/browse/grippy
unless kids are involved, presents will be bought in the after xmas sales.
@TheBreadmonkey Ready or not here we come
@TheBreadmonkey this Chronological decadence will anger the old gods of the woods....
I've never really (as an adult) felt a reason to be grateful for the weird intensity with which my country has become obsessed with Halloween, but I suppose it at least helps with this.
God damn this world got so stupid.
@TheBreadmonkey
Now is the time of the deckings of the halls.
Tbf there was way more Halloween and “pumpkin season” (sort of Halloween into Thanksgiving) in the main decor area.
@TheBreadmonkey people have three payslips to work out what they’re going to buy, and budget for it. The shops are predatory and want to ensure they get as much money as possible…
@TheBreadmonkey For the well-to-do Christian Nationalists who want to renumerate calendars to remove October 31st and make November into a 31 day month.
@TheBreadmonkey Ooh-ooh, smash it up
Smash it up, smash it up
Ooh-ooh, smash it up
Smash it up, smash it up now
Smash it up
Smash it up, smash it up
Oh, yeah
And everybody's smashing things up
Oh yeah, I said, "Everybody's smashing things"
Now, yeah.
@TheBreadmonkey Where are the mince pies ???
@TheBreadmonkey Well thank fuck they're ready when we are.
@TheBreadmonkey
Seems to be what happens when you let speradsheets run society. :(
Simply having a wonderful Christmastime!
In August.
Retail is still using the Tescorian calendar, which has twelve days of Christmas rather than just the one. Because of the overlap, holiday shopping will occur earlier each year until the calendars realign in 2049.
Then, an international body, the Christmoidal Calendriat, will retire the Tescorian calendar in favour of the more familiar Walmartian version.
@TheBreadmonkey It is way too early for the festive advertising. What I notice more though is you pay £12 (~$16) for a box of chocolate? What the fuck lol
@TheBreadmonkey This deserves a classic meme response.
@TheBreadmonkey Should be moved to either the 29th February or when there is a bright light in the sky, such as Halley's comet.
Not anti-Christmas, just think we should space it out a bit more to allow for additional recovery time.
@TheBreadmonkey Saw this last year in August, I think it's for the weirdos that watch Christmas movies in July and stockpile Ferrero Rocher all year round.
@TheBreadmonkey In future years people will gather to celebrate a new midwinter festival to lift their spirits amid the endless gloom of perpetual Christmas.
I sometimes wish there was a way to double boost or sort of super boost a post
@TheBreadmonkey @eleanorrees If quotes are allowed, I’ll sometimes to that as well and just sort of go “Bloody hell! Look at this!”
@TheBreadmonkey What a load of baubles
@TheBreadmonkey "We're ready when you are..." What if I'm never ready?
@TheBreadmonkey ‘Tis a season!
@TheBreadmonkey so here it is, Merry Christmas
@TheBreadmonkey Halloween's fallen! Christmas is about to overtake the land! Flee, you fools!
@TheBreadmonkey jeez.. not even had the last gasp of summer...
Plus aren't they gonna need to ditch & change that isle for Halloween tat?
@TheBreadmonkey that means hot cross buns will be available here on Boxing Day.
@TheBreadmonkey From a retail standpoint, that is a nicely organized display. But, yeah, a touch early.
@TheBreadmonkey humbug. (Although, if we could have mince pies all year round, that'd be fab, tvm.)
