The view from our sitting room, where the shadow of a magpie perched on the corner of our porch outside is cast on our window blinds by the evening sun.

Freida, our large brown tabby cat, has seen the moving shadow of the bird, and is on the inside of the windowsill, standing on her hind legs, utterly transfixed.

Having pounced on the window blinds in an attempt to "catch" the shadow-magpie, Freida is on all fours on the window sill and looking down, unaware that the shadow-bird has now taken flight, wings spread as it ascends across the window and away.
