On October 27, I started to put peanuts out on a small table to attract crows to my yard. On the first two days, only blue jays and squirrels appeared. On Wednesday October 29, the crows showed up and three or four of them have been here every morning since. This morning, November 29, after a month of feeding my new friends, I found this shiny foil gum wrapper left on the ground next to the feeding station. It might be the best present I have ever been given.

I've been running a stitch n' bitch for fun and it helped me to finish this embroidery I started like 2 years ago and kept forgetting about.

An embroidery of a black crow sitting on top of a log on a natural undyed cotton fabric still in the hoop.

Anyway, if there's anyone who is more of a Bird Knowledge human vs of me, a mere Bird Appreciator human, I'd love to know

Are so many nest attempts are typical for Steller's Jays?
How long does nest building usually take?
Are any other corvids more/less adept at nest building?
