In 28,833 hospital encounters, ACE Units & Geriatrics Consults raised adherence to the 4Ms framework vs. usual care. But effects on outcomes were mixed. Consults alone linked to fewer 30-day readmissions, while ACE+Consult tied to more. Only ACE units with high adherence shortened stays.
Better adherence ≠ uniformly better outcomes. #Implementation matters.
