I wish I could mark packages more reliably as “we signed the Software Maintainer’s Pledge¹ and will treat this as infrastructure that must not be volatile”.² And then have platform tooling that blows up visibly when I break that promise (ideally down to some implicit interfaces, partially following Hyrum’s Law,³ maybe getting stricter automatically when there are more known users of my package).
