I’m just absolutely stunned by the rural Idaho sky. It sits at 2 or 3 on the Bortle scale for measuring dark skies, a vast difference from Brooklyn’s light-polluted Bortle 9. You leave the house lights and walk out, before moonrise, right into a sea of stars, the Milky Way overhead.
And oh, the moon. In a city you forget how brightly Luna can shine. Here, looking out on a field brilliant with moonlight and crisp shadows, you know exactly who owns the night.
