Finally catching up with the latest season of Strange New Worlds.
The first episode was a time paradox story. These kind of annoy me, (one reason I consider season 2 of Picard completely forgettable). Plus the writing was painfully heavy-handed in places.
The second one was a really gory, Saw-style splatter horror, which I did not expect, and did *not* enjoy (I loved Event Horizon, but I knew what I was in for).

Episode 3 was fun, and kept me guessing as to what was going on. Watching Pike trying to deliver a formal welcome to incredibly fussy diplomats was very relatable ; ) But again, the character-driven A plot just kept telegraphing what it was doing, in ways that felt very inauthentic.
It's a shame, because I've mostly loved this show up to now. Hopefully the next few episodes rewards my persistence.
