I think this is written by @idlip and I like this article a lot as well.
"Why was the software created?" is also a central question for Social experience design, and the answer should always be: "To satisfy identified stakeholder needs".
In #FOSS there is way too much "Let's create an app, and then put users in it" (followed by "Build it and they will come"). Which is a tech-first approach, not solution-oriented.
