My god, people. If we allow this to continue they may do something totally crazy, like integrating our mass transit systems or agreeing on where to build an east-end bridge!

@zazzoo They get so much less attention than national politicians, but mayors do so much important international diplomacy and planning work. A lot of the practical preparation for climate change is done by local politicians networking with their counterparts in other countries, and sharing data and strategies.

Local government directly affects our lives each and every day, and yet so few people actually vote in municipal elections, and getting people to run is hard (and given what DoFraud has been doing to strip municipal councils of authority has made it even worse). My asshat local councillor is going to be acclaimed again 🙄.
