Update: One of the admins of this Facebook group apparently deleted all comments by myself and other authors who expressed criticism of this approach.
One admin of this group also posted assorted comments which were strongly in favor of AI translation, since "all the big publishing houses are doing this".

@juergen_hubert Tja. Diese LLM Phase wird viel Veränderung bringen und mE nicht alles gut. Ich nutze auch manchmal DeepL. Aber geschäftlich würde ich es meiden. Letzlich ist eine Buchübersetzung doch was ganz anderes als die Übersetzung für ein Kuchenrezept.
@juergen_hubert Da fehlt der Geist, die Interpretation der Sprache, das Herzblut eines Textes. Das können nur Menschen, keine LLMs. #Uebersetzung #KI #LLM
Sehe ich auch so. Deswegen sind meine Übersetzungen auch alle handgemacht.
