Jiangsu Province in eastern China has surpassed 100 GW of installed solar PV capacity, becoming the country’s first provincial-level region to reach the milestone, with distributed solar accounting for nearly 70% of capacity. The province plans further rapid expansion through 2030 and 2035, while upgrading grids, storage and digital systems to manage rising solar penetration and improve renewable-energy utilization.
