I am curious for people's thoughts, I have been a long time linux user and have no reason to go back but with the walls around technology growing higher I find my favourite #foss projects submitting to them. Like how AI is now an inseparable part of the linux kernel and most distros accept AI code contributions and systemd as well as several distros are preparing for #ageverification laws with compliance. I've found myself looking for alternatives that more align with my values as a leftists and a #luddite that strongly apposes those things and the rise of techno futurism (techno-fascism). I have been curious about #bsd and specifically #openbsd but have yet to try it out (I may install it on a spare laptop today to try it) but I was curious what people's recommendation would be for an operating system now that linux has declared itself openseason for the slop and many traditional distros have pre-emptively bent the knee to age verification and seem willing to become surveillance tech the moment a fascist asks them with any sort of legal backing.
