The entire Taylor Farms Cyclospora lettuce debacle with an FDA backpedal is highly suspect to me - especially when this corporation has been a huge contributor to the current admin and the backpedal occurred after the fact they had a "private meeting".
The plot thickens when people realize Taylor Farms private labels their lettuce for what seems like at least 1/3 of the lettuce products out there, and this affects a large number of other corporations with its enormous, and dominant, market share.
You'd think instead of the FDA calling this a "false positive", despite the huge list of epidemiological evidence in the matter, they would have actually tested the lettuce that was apart of the recall first.
Yes, the lettuce they tested was a "contaminated sample collected through targeted import surveillance as part of the agency's investigation. The agency said Taylor Farms confirmed the positive sample is not part of the company's voluntary recall".
A federal agency announcing a positive match to the public and then retracting it within 24 hours, despite all the evidence, ...that must be a historical rarity.
