So weakening/postponing CO2 certificate pricing and methane is how exaxtly supposed to solve the problem?

Please do not define CO2 reduction targets only for the next several decadia, but for each single year. Otherwise governments will first postpone measures until too late and then demand extensions for targets due so suddenly.

Additionally decrease the zero-emission-target (and thus yearly limits) by one month whenever a month sets a new heat record.

How about putting the #settlercolonial #apartheid project currently committing #genocide in #palestine down like the mad dog it is? You’d see emissions tied to their extermination campaign plummet, the #iran situation would be resolved, and all the countries in the region could stop wasting energy keeping the colonisers at bay.

@EUCommission I think Europe is doing well with reducing carbon emissions and the commission should tout its successes whenever it can.

However, reality is that climate change itself is here to stay, probably for decades as CO2 does easily dissipate. We should therefor focus on the consequences of climate change, from turning cities green, create shade, build water reservoirs but also consider the mass application of AC.

I think we need to do everything possible to ensure we all live as comfortably with summer temperatures in the high 30s and into the 40s °C.

Yes, we should have tackled the causes earlier and with more vigor, but some policies are inevitably reactive.

@EUCommission Unfortunately no. Climate change is not here, it is about to come. We are experiencing now just what we could have had if we were trying to fulfill the 1,5° demands. That's where we are now.
We are heading towards 2° or 3° degrees or even higher. We will yearn for only thousands of deads in June. In 10 to 20 years that will be a light summer breeze.

@EUCommission Please implement top-down, comprehensive minimum measures on governments to adapt their societies to these climate extremes - some member state governments are better than others, but individuals in the EU are unable to do this ourselves.

@EUCommission There has to be acceptance that it is far too late to do anything about climate change. Set up education to teach the next generation survival skills and the human race might just have a chance. #climatechange
