accidentally falling down a rabbithole of trawling amazon for AI-generated images of volunteers distributing tents to unhoused people is a good way to feel very ill about the present and future
(back on my tent bullshit)
@inquiline
ouch. On the other hand, if you're looking for a real example of someone who has collected and distributed supplies to unhoused people, look no further than @Yehuda who helps his Chicago neighbors.
thanks. i have talked to folks here as well. what i'm actually thinking about right now is episodes of automation, if that makes sense, in supply chain and marketing. more concretely, i started noticing "homeless" in amazon product descriptions for tents, and wondering if a person ever wrote that or if it's bots appending search terms. basically thinking about how robots intensify people living disposable lives
(ouch indeed)
@inquiline suffering for the art!
proof that i'm working on one of my weird projects is i get irrationally worried someone will be writing about the same thing, not quite "scoop" me but along those lines--but then one reminds oneself that no one else would be looking at this object in the same way because why would anyone, plus it doesn't matter
(also we don't own ideas, also kill the individual in your head)

Growing parts of the future seem to be McCarthyan SolarPunk...
