Instead of banning spy glasses because they're a clear violation of privacy law, the EU apparently chose to grant their manufacturers an exemption from the removable battery mandate instead.
Why is it so hard for politicians to choose our rights over business interests for once? Rhetorical question, I think I know the answer already.
