In what sense hacking? For the sec-op expert, the mechanical Turk sifting out through millions of bytes of a binary blob comparing each few instructions sequence to millions of exploitable patterns might speed-up the important discovery. And, as #noai fighter I had to admit it.
As for the generating slop in the other hacking meaning – making tangible electronics and program it – I more and more am convinced that creators either sold their channels, or at least sold their work on them.
If you for 10 or so years was making a few hundred bucks a month for 250-300h work it is much tempting to say yes to the mail offer in $$$ tens of thousands for "just use our model, bro".
First this happened to centrist political channels, then to tinfoil milliner's ones, now #technazi bros want to dumb future tinkerers.
