Why waste time trying to imagine what aliens may look like when you can just look at a Japanese cicada. They're some ugly Mofos if you're asking me. They're also loud AF... And they even make me curse in my blog.

@tintinaujapon Me neither. My first apartment had tiny trees next to my room (and a field next door for plenty of larvae to grow) we just couldn't open the windows some days (it was before it gets too hot to open them in summer). Now it's a bit better in my house (the park attracts them, so they don't all gather next door) but it's still bad.

@David I can't remember when they started last year, but I assume a few weeks after most other places in Japan, due to the relative later start to summer. I'll try and make a note of it.
