Let's not forget though, that it will be well-neigh impossible to use F-Droid after September this year, when a Google update makes it very difficult to authorize third party package sources.
@glitzersachen Depends on your device (some vendors offer Android devices without the G-Stuff) – but yeah, guess the hope of having that rollout stopped in time are not that high. And it will affect the majority.
I'd say time to keep that in mind NOW, before you¹ buy your next device?

When I bought my Fairphone 5, there was no Lineage OS available. I'll change to it, out of necessity.
But the really, really upsetting thing is breach of the implied contract: I bought this phone to have it for 8-10 years (because that is the guaranteed support). Now, after considerable less time, an update will worsen the experience a lot (I use F-Droid a lot, hardly anything from Playstore) and I have to go through the change to Lineage OS with a device I need every day for MFA.
Google broke my trust (or at least the small rest that was not still broken), that's for sure.
And Fairphone basically suffers that Google breaks their (Fairphones) original promise to me.
