Funfact: if a torrent's trackers are all unresponsive, you can just edit the torrent and replace them with good trackers. Then everyone you share the new torrent with will use the new trackers. There's nothing that says any torrent has to have a certain tracker.

Some programs (like transmission) even let you edit the list of trackers, add and delete whichever ones you want, and your program will just start using those new trackers. You'll can share a torrent file containing the new trackers for other people to use them, or they might coincidentally add the same tracker as you did. It'll work either way.

You still of course have to get permission from private trackers to track anything, generally by logging in on their website.
