Top panel off, rinse it under the host, scrub with warm water with dishwashing detergent, rinse it off, into the oven to express-dry because it’s made out of steel
Can definitely see where the cooling vents are open to the world

Screen protector off, it’s holding the front bezel on
Bottom off as well, there’s more front bezel clips underneath
Disassemble the sweep time / div knob, now that’s holding on the front bezel
2 small grub screws to get the front knob off, and 3 tiny brass screws holding the larger ring to the mechanism

Oh, good, that little tab at about the 2 o’clock position on the Delay Time dial is meant to come off, I didn’t just break it off
Ok while it’s arse is off I’ll give it a good wash. You’re allowed to wash your own arse, it won’t turn you gay or anything.

This was obviously a frequently-used tool. The grease stains caught a lot of diesel soot, and needed a decent scrub to get clean. There’s definitely some petroleum residue in those areas because those areas look clean but are still hydrophobic

Now carefully considering how to proceed. Am thinking, quick vacuum with a soft brush attachment to get the worst of it out, attack the front panel knobs and connectors with baby-grade wet wipes.
Obviously I don’t want to put any tap water anywhere near the electronics, but I am a bit concerned about static electricity generated by the vacuum cleaner.
Maybe outside and spray it with an air blower instead. No fans in this thing to generate stray voltages…

Yeah only thing left to do now is attack the front and back panels with baby wipes, then hit the switches with contact cleaner
