I’ve been on the fediverse for a few years and I’ve never really understood the fuss about choosing an instance or a “community”. I would genuinely love for someone to tell me their reasoning for being on one instance over any other.
To me my community is the people I follow and see in my timeline. They’re from many different instances and I don’t really care which ones they’re on 🤷♂️ Isn’t that what’s great about federation?

@dansup possibly silly Fediverse question: I can follow accounts from other services, but how do I FIND accounts to follow if I'm not on those services?
I went to BookWyrm and all I can do is create an account. How do I browse Pixelfed to find someone I like?
