84-year old retired priest Sue Parfitt has been repeatedly arrested for breaking counter-terror law by holding signs to protest the proscription of Palestine Action. Today, she went further than ever before, vocally expressing support for the group, and encouraging the police arresting her to join her in that support. She was arrested under section 12 of the Terrorism Act 2000, a criminal offence that carries a sentence of up to 14-years. She told Novara Media why she’ll continue to break the law.

This reminds me of what happened to Rod Coronado in the US, a story told in the song Burn it Down by David Rovics;

Isn't criminalising the expression of dissent what "Communist" countries supposedly do, and what capitalism+liberal democracy is supposed to protect us from?
*REPEATEDLY arrested. And it will have the same effect the next time, none.
It's you, the consumer, who buy your products from corporations-- who dictate foreign policy in the US--who are directly supporting genocide. When you stop supporting these corporations, who own your Congress, there won't be any more genocides. Until that happens, genocide will continues to be done in your name and the RoW will know who's responsible.

You can't shop your way out of capitalism. The majority of corporate products are sold to other businesses, not direct to consumers. Of those sold directly to consumers, many are only supplied by corporations in most places (how many places have non-corporate energy suppliers or ISPs?).
I'm all for people joining/ buying from co-ops and social enterprises where they're available. But ...
@novaramedia @bss This is Keir Starmer’s legacy.
And let’s not forget that Yvette Cooper was Home Secretary that pushed it.
Both should bow their heads in shame.
I’m not a UK resident, so I can safely say “I support Palestine Action”.
