@atpfm @siracusa (maybe #AskATP) I noticed in this episode that you almost exclusively refer to LLMs as “agents”. Was that intentional? Do you feel like even the basic chat bots now do enough to be called “agentic”?

My mental model is that I “ask an LLM” when I’m performing a single query, even if behind the scenes that leads to multiple messages to the model. Conversely, I “assign a task to an agent” because I expect it to be multi-modal - calling local tools, maybe spawning a sub agent, writing code, etc.

I feel like the vocabulary of this space is very turbulent, but you tend to be pretty deliberate In your wording. I’m curious if my mental model should change.

The reason Valve can't sell the Steam Machine at a loss is because: people would buy the hardware below cost, install Windows or other Linux distro on it, and never buy a Steam game for it.
