#HolosSocial got a large invisible rework on the server side. The relay receives everything but does not know who follows who, so it used to keep a separate reference for every user. The database grew without limits, the cleaning scripts could no longer keep up, and the app slowed down over time. It now keeps shared content in one place that every device reads from. The home timeline is currently fixed at 30 days for everyone, the notion of inactive accounts is gone, and the relay stays dumb.
