Can anybody shed some light for me on the openscience network, seemingly based on bonfire ? What's the difference with what we have on mastodon, when following the hashtags #OpenScience ? How is behind bonfire ? There does not seem to be a wikipedia webpage for bonfire. Is anybody running a OpenScience network using bonfire ?

@olibrendel
Good Q, @fresseng might know?
@A_J_Millar @olibrendel Yes ! Well Open Science Network is based on ActivityPub and offers many useful features for scientists and their institutions that Mastodon does not provide, integrating closed discussions and circles. It can be used to build scientific discourse around manuscripts. One good way to get info is to check their blog : https://openscience.network/blog/. Another one is to ask them directly : @Bonfire

@brembs
Thanks for all the feedback.
I tried the sandbox at openscience.network , but it seems to play with it, you need to be invited 😁
@fresseng @A_J_Millar @Bonfire
It needs to be one of the registered users of openscience.net such as
@brembs
Or
@UlrikeHahn
😁

I am registered in the sandbox, but I do not think I can invite you. It has to be the admin @Bonfire

How much of #bonfire is #VibeCoded ? The .claude/CLAUDE.md file on the MicrosoftGH host seems to give a clue:
https://github.com/bonfire-networks/bonfire-app/blob/main/.claude/CLAUDE.md
@boud @fresseng @olibrendel @A_J_Millar @Bonfire @brembs what clue do you see there?
The directory name is ".claude", the filename is "CLAUDE.md", the content looks rather like LLM prompts, and there is a well-known LLM online service called #Claude.
Since I don't do vibe-coding and haven't (yet) had to check vibe-coded code, I can't say more than "a clue". People with experience looking at Claude-vibe-coded code might want to comment here.
@boud@framapiaf.org we're drafting our AI policy and will share publicly as soon as it's ready...

To make it short, I would say that Mastodon is close to the old Twitter, while the Open Science Network is more like ResearchGate, but open, ethical, with much more features, and linked to the Fediverse, Mastodon included.

Thanks Nicolas for these informations. Does UL have an instance installed ?
