These new favicons for Google products are a huge step backwards. I'm always surprised when something like this ships. #UX

@scottjenson I do not understand why they’ve dropped the background colours. A lot less distinctive like this, making it more difficult to quickly find the correct tab.
UX just took a leap backwards. Designers maybe chose something “more stylish” but forgot the UX of the vast majority of users.
Kinda toxic design IMHO.
