Dear people living in Japan and/or knowing more about plants than me...
One thing I love here is when old people giving you random things (usually food)... Except that usually they know what they're giving you.
This afternoon, one of the old ladies living in my neighborhood gave me these except that when I asked her what it was, she had no idea, she didn't even know if it was edible, she just had a bunch and felt like giving me some.
Do any of you know what those could be?
@David I'm going with unripe peaches
They probably baby triffids going by the little fingers.
A phot of the other end would help.
Feijoa / guava will have remains of a flower at the little fingers end.
@driusan They're not moldy, but have some small "hair" like a peach.
@David They look like feijoas, in which case they're edible. What are they like inside?
@sister_ratched I didn't open them. I'm contemplating planting them in my garden. I half suspect it's why she gave them to me, she sees how "experimental" my garden is by Japanese standards (I do have sunflowers growing this year in the middle of all the weeds. The green peas are trying to grow but insects are eating the leaves).
