I love watching swallows interact, they're so exuberant and social. #birds #birding #swallows

Two tree swallows sitting on top of a rusted wire fence, a female on the left looking forward, pale underneath and dark on top with only a hint of blue sheen, and a male on the right, head turned towards the female, beak wide open as he talks. The male is white underneath and iridescent blue on the head and back. Behind them both is the burred beige of dead grasses or reeds, with a bit of green creeping in.

A pair of tree swallows mating on top of a rusted metal fence. The female on the bottom, pale underneath and dark brown with a blue sheen above, looking rather squashed, and a male on top of her, wings spreads as he flutters for balance, white underneath and a beautiful blue sheen above. Behind the fence and birds is a drying out marsh, all tall grasses in various stages of life.
