Google I/O for those that didn't watch.
@rythur I already am eating from the trash can all the time. The name of this trash can is ideology
@protonprivacy
"They Live" was an awesome movie. I rewatched it recently. I think it's available for free on #YouTube. 😉
哈哈,没看直播,感谢你帮忙总结。这张图挺有信息的,谷歌这次又憋了什么新活儿?
@protonprivacy I don't care personally because I literally don't use any of their shit. Like, NONE of it. You could technically say Android is theirs, but I have all their shit disabled or blocked. What's shit is that clueless masses just use everything from Google because it's free shit. Same people who would question free shit offered on the street but don't mind same free shit on their computers and phones.
well then don't use it

At the end of the day, these are just companies, and we'll just stop using them.
@protonprivacy You guys are hardly a bastion against the upcoming slopification of everything.

@nemo admin's favourite movie of all time, in fact
@protonprivacy @nemo Trump was really big when this came out. That was his shining moment.
We are basically living in exactly the world that movie was about if the Roddy Pipper character never existed.
Because he didn't, but what the movie was about was in fact happening in real time. Just not aliens--our own, homegrown monsters.
@protonprivacy we don’t need to combine and “simplify” internet results, we need multiple sources like ai and reputable personal/professional and every day people site results, instead of trusting a company or 2 for all information.
@protonprivacy what about lumo, then?
@triple Lumo is a privacy-focused AI tool. It's a new and extra thing you don't have to interact with if you don't want, but given what people were talking to chatbots about, a privacy-preserving one has to exist.
It's fundamentally incomparable to changing an extant product.
@protonprivacy Thanks for letting us know. I'll start looking to a better company to get email from. You're far from the only ones promising privacy based email.
@protonprivacy but I pay you for a VPN and cloud storage... your dev efforts are then spent on AI and crypto rubbish, so I am just a chump tbh.
@aidanweatherill dev efforts are spent on a lot of things
@protonprivacy Thanks, as long as you commit to keeping it a separate product that don't invade the other products we already use, it seems like a sane and respectful solution indeed.
