I've finally finished "Katabasis" and find it again eerily accurate when it comes to relationships in academia. Also, of course I'm biased because the main character is a linguist 馃ぉ I'm getting my dad, the philosopher, to read it to let me know what he thinks of the philosophy parts 馃槄 #darkAcademia #academicChatter

@tschfflr yes! It is accurate even when you're not in the humanities, and in a different country's university system!
@tschfflr oh my, I have only made it to the second circle of hell, but then I somehow started feeling so bad for the character(s) that I had to stop. Should I finish it ;)?
@mario_angst_sci yes! Bad things happen, but I read it in the full conviction that it is basically a fairy tale / fable, so things will "work out in the end". And I found the final scene or two (with Lord Yama, obviously) quite interesting, because I know very little about Eastern philosophy/mysticism. So that was cool.
