When it comes to much of software, I think people should be more petty.
They should take annoyances to heart. If a feature is locked behind a paywall (especially dumb ones like those of the Youtube app), they should get mad.
They should grumble and complain. When they don't, they're giving that behavior tacit approval. The large companies who make them then figure, we haven't gone too far YET. We can push further. Every millimeter of ground you yield, they will take.
For software made by solo devs or small teams I can cut them slack, but nothing made by Google or Apple or Microsoft or Meta or Adobe or Oracle, or any software company you're likely to know like a brand name, deserves it, not should receive it.
