The Digital Statute of Children and Adolescents (ECA Digital - Law No. 15211/2025) in Brazil, regulated by Decree 12880/2026, explicity requires operating system providers to implement age verification mechanisms.

Linking a real-world identity to every social media account removes the ability to speak freely without fear of real-world retaliation. In tech policy, what starts as a measure "to protect the children" often evolves into a standard for everyone. Age is the "Trojan Horse."
