After c5. Have added a level of nothing but planters and mealwood plants. (Planters instead of farm tiles cuz it's not permanent.)
When that's finished, we're basically good for another 30-40 cycles. We have o2, h2o, food, and morale. Everything else is just an enhancement.
So.
1) Keep digging. We want the whole temperate biome cored, really.
2) Decide what to do with h2o for the mid term.
3) Decide about mid-term food.
4) Explore explore explore.
End of c1: You can't really ask for a better start than this. All the usual suspects: a place to poop, a source of o2, a research station.
More importantly, we reveal a little more. There's a smaller h2o pool on the lower left, and to its left both caustic and slime biomes. The lower right shows the teleporter, and it's bounded to the right w/another caustic.
We're set for a few cycles, so let's just look around. Remember, all this is *super* temporary.
After C2. Remember when I said "temporary"? Heading downward, at the very bottom, you can see the material teleporter receiver. Don't want my main shaft to go through that, so we'll move it to the right.
The biome extends to the right a fair bit, above the arch, and to the left a fair bit, below the arch. A ghost of a plan starts to emerge. (The blueprinted digging on the upper right is just for measurement, not for reals.)
Just a little more digging, and we'll commit.
After C3. Now that we (think we) have a main shaft, it's time to get the first 50 cycles under control. For that, we need barracks, a great hall, and a modest food source.
On the c3 drop I got a good Frankie (Ranching/Supplying), so that's a good start.
We've blueprinted in the great hall, a slightly moved latrine, and the initial barracks.
Don't get confused: this, *too*, is temporary. It's just not *as* temporary. Most of this will live for 50-100 cycles, some of it will live forever.
After c4. Not much here, just the continuation. We now have a barracks for 4 dups, a latrine about to be enclosed, a great hall about to become great.
Note: The odd barracks, w/3 beds and a gap, 3 beds and a gap, is prep. Those will ultimately become private bedrooms.
Note: The real bathroom will go below the great hall, w/a nature reserve.
