Hi peeps/mastodonians/scribes and scribblers... Could someone please explain the microfiction hashtag and its uses.
Might want to share some recent scribbles... if anyone is interested that is.
Thanks in advance.

@Owen_G_Richards It's for sharing very short stories, usually short enough to fit in a standard (though standard length varies between instances...) 500-character toot, though sometimes people use it for multitoot stories too.
Thank you!
I've just completed a thread (23 parts - 1739 words - 9735 characters) to produce a short story - privately viewed by @JeanieBurrell - who suggested that I might want to share it.
Hence the thunks leading to the question.
Maybe I'll serialise it - one toot per day.
@Owen_G_Richards @MicroSFF @JeanieBurrell that might be a bit on the long end, ut i have seen stuff that was probably ~1000 characters labled as microfiction.
and i think its good.
but most people tend to stay near the 1-3 toot (500char each) size.
but there are a lot of people who also do serials of these.
one i recently have seen a lot was https://sakurajima.moe/@NaraMoore/116502032796865114
or this thread with many recurring characters https://mastodon.art/@aaribaud/113060532005182319

On Twitter I ran for months (200 chars limit notwithstanding) had people following who kept me going.
I think I was trying to prove to any doubters out there... you can write a story/short/novella/novel one paragraph at a time.
Speed is not essential, patience works better.
