The handwringing about the thin clients being released under the Windows 365 PCs banner is funny.
The last time this was tried, ChromeOS, was a much better design. Websites are designed to withstand junky networks; RDP is not.
The Azure thin clients are for businesses who are putting people on TS client anyway. It’s a common strategy to put contractor on Azure Virtual Desktops to insulate the corporate network from whatever is going on with the contractor’s personal equipment.
It’s also telling these are desktops, and not laptops/tablets/convertibles. These are for hot seat desks. Allowing people to move around and keep their profiles.
I guess some causal people are going to buy into this, but they’re going to be spending money to run a web browser.
